West Vic Division of General Practice would like to invite all general practice nurses to attend the network meetings to be held quarterly (February, May, August, November), predominantly on the 4th Wednesday of the month. These meetings provide a strong education component, but also provide opportunity for professional networking and support. These free learning activities can be accessed online and used by practice nurses to update their immunisation knowledge. This is an interactive and enjoyable way to learn, and provides useful links to other sources of information – great for nurses in rural or remote areas where access can be an issue.

It is NOT a requirement that you are an APNA member to register for this course.

CLEARING THE SMOKE: ONLINE LEARNING

Is an online learning module which will assist healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge of smoking cessation.

Is interactive, with opportunities for reflection, quizzes and case studies.

Is suitable for completion by any healthcare professional interested in smoking cessation.

The Clearing the Smoke program includes seven modules with two core compulsory modules and five elective modules.

In order to earn CPD points, you will need to have completed at least 6 out of 7 modules.

RESEARCH CAPACITY BUILDING IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE: Basic Critical Thinking Skills

This course of 12 topics, each of approximately 1 hour duration is hosted by Medeserv and is available free of charge to all health professionals within Australia.

The course aims to introduce clinicians to some of the basic skills required to inform daily clinical decision-making with the latest research-based knowledge.
