Avoca

Avoca is a town in the Central Highlands of Victoria just 71 km from Ballarat and has a population of around 1,000 people.

Avoca is situated on the Avoca River which runs slowly through the plains of the Wimmera before petering out in swamps near the Murray.

The township of Avoca supports 2 pubs, several cafes, a chemist, convenience store, 2 butchers, a supermarket, its own newspaper (Pyrenees Advocate) and a community bank.
