Coleraine

Coleraine is located in the Shire of Southern Grampians in the Western Districts of Victoria, Australia with a town population of approximately 2,000.

The district is predominantly sheep and cattle production country with additional industries in timber plantations and light manufacturing. The township is nestled in a valley amongst rolling hills with the Wannon and Glenelg rivers flowing through. The well-known Coonawarra Winery region, Grampians ranges and stunning coastline are all within easy reach.

The township and surrounding area has extensive infrastructure services for health, education, sporting & recreational, tourist attractions and extensive retail services. The community within the service area is a safe and cohesive community that supports fully medical services and healthcare facilities within its area.

Casterton and Coleraine are a distance of 27 kilometres apart with Coleraine to the east of Casterton. Major centres in relation to the centre of our service district include, Hamilton 45 kms to the east, Mt Gambier 85 kms to the west, Portland 100 kms to the south, Melbourne 310 kms to the east and Adelaide some 500 kms to the west.

Our region is also located close to many tourist areas and National Parks. The Grampians National Park, Lower Glenelg National Park are only 3/4's of an hour away east and west respectively. The famous Coonawarra wine region is situated 45 minutes west of Casterton.

Portland, with extensive coastal attractions, is an hour to the south and the famous resort of Robe is only an hour and half away across the border into South Australia. The climate in the Western District is mild during winter with warm summers.

The area has a consistent rainfall average.
