THE PRACTICE:

Dr Roy Felstead founded Lister House Medical Clinic as a Group Practice in 1936. The Doctors' partnership was the second group practice in Victoria, although a new concept the clinic was innovative for it time with several consulting rooms a theatre, x-ray equipment and accommodation for two receptionists. 70 years on the practice is still a thriving business with 12 GPs with an EFT of 11, which include two GP registrars, and 18 support staff consisting of 8 full-timers, 2 casual and the balance of part-timers. Lister House Medical Clinic provides care and service to the community of Horsham and its regions, servicing a population of over 30,000 people. It is a busy fully accredited and computerised clinic, providing a range of comprehensive general practice, surgical and women's health services. It is also an accredited training practice for medical students and GP registrars.

MEDICAL SUPPORT STAFF

Lister House Medical Clinic employees 5 Practice Nurses and 2 Diabetes Educator

CLINIC HOURS ARE:

Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 7pm- Saturday - 8:30am to 12 noon- Sunday - 9am to 12 noon. A rotating roster applies for all after hours and weekend duty, it usually incorporates one weekend and 2+ weeknights a month.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:


Appointment terms and conditions are negotiable, including the provision of accommodation and a vehicle. A tour of the clinic, hospital and region can be organised as required. Perhaps a few weeks locum to trial the position would suit applicants.

Wimmera Health Care Group incorporating Wimmera Base Hospital & Dimboola District Hospital. Wimmera Health Care Group is the major specialist referral centre for the Wimmera region, covering 30,000 square kilometres, servicing a population of approximately 50,000 people. The Health Care Group provides emergency and critical care services for adults and children throughout the region.

OVERSEAS TRAINED DOCTORS

Doctors from overseas interested in this position are advised that West Vic Division of General Practice can assist them with the paper trail and has a great track record of assisting doctors from overseas into rural Australian general practice on a temporary and permanent basis, having completed over 30 permanent residency approvals.

Support is available through the West Vic Division of General Practice for doctors working in the Division who wish to progress towards their Fellowship with the RACGP.

West Vic Division of General Practice works in conjunction with RWAV (Rural Workforce Agency Victoria) to support our practices with workforce support.
